| kCura Adds dtSearch to Relativity |
For “powerful searching,” Relativity provides the option of using dtSearch, allowing “searches quickly on keyword, full-text, date-range, and other full conditional searches across the entire repository or a specific subset.”

kCura’s Relativity is a web-based document review solution that has the power to handle the entire review lifecycle, and ease-of-use to let reviewers focus on documents, instead of technology. A feature-rich, online review application, Relativity provides image and native file review, powerful searching, diverse coding options, flexible work-flow capabilities, Unicode support, and conceptual searching, all delivered in a highly scalable solution. For maximum flexibility, kCura both provides a hosted solution through its partners, as well as directly serving some of the nation’s leading law firms by deploying Relativity in-house.

Relativity’s comprehensive litigation support feature set includes all of the following:
| |
True Native Review. Relativity preserves native document formats without having to convert to TIFF, PDF, or HTML. At any time, users also have the option to open documents locally or convert to TIFF on the fly for redaction within the application.
Streamlined Workflow, Reporting and Production. Relativity helps manage the entire review process, from initial review to production. Relativity’s tools assist in batching documents, tracking reviewer progress, enforcing consistent tagging among duplicates and attachments, building custom validation rules, and running powerful reports. As a final step, Relativity can organize and run the entire production.
Granular Application Security. Relativity employs a highly granular security architecture, which allows security down to the individual field. Users can secure sub-collections of documents, hide fields, and expose specific documents for expert review.
Immediate Collaboration. Relativity is a web-based application, allowing users the ability to access data from any Internet-connected computer. Secure access also allows external vendors to easily load and export information, eliminating the need to FTP and ship CD/DVDs from location to location. Fully Distributable Architecture. Relativity supports distribution of all its components across multiple servers, allowing for horizontal partitioning of the system. |

Searching is also “available for documents and document metadata containing foreign languages ... including Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, and Korean.”

For what kCura's website terms “powerful searching,” Relativity provides users with the option of using the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine. Using dtSearch technology, “Relativity allows you to run searches quickly on keyword, full-text, date-range, and other full conditional searches across the entire repository or a specific subset.” Additionally, searching is “available for documents and document metadata containing foreign languages. Major foreign languages, including Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, and Korean, are supported.”
Beyond keyword searching, kCura also uses Content Analyst’s technology for document analysis and conceptual searching. (For additional information on how Content Analyst technology works in conjunction with dtSearch, please see Content Analyst case study on the dtSearch site.)
